Building A Stick Curtain Wall

The building Glass Curtain Walls are typically an aluminum-framed panel, with in-between hooks attached to the building's wall structure. It is attached to the structure by means of tassels that are either internally or externally adjustable. The tassel system allows for the easy movement of the panels from one side of the window to the other, depending on the need. External tassels are fixed to the curtain rod with screws or nails. Internal tassels are fastened with clips that allow the panels to be moved along the tracks on the Aluminium Frame Curtain Wall. These panels are also adjusted at the opening of each panel.

This type of curtain is very popular in the residential sector, used for multiplex configuration of windows in the hallway of an apartment or condo. A vertical mullion is fixed between two sticks and either secured to a frame with slats or nailed to the wall. The panels are fixed vertically against the Aluminum Curtain Wall. The frame may be made of wrought iron or steel. It provides uniform resistance from vertical direction and horizontal light.

An advantage of this type of aluminum frame curtain wall is that it provides protection against thermal performance. This is important since windows are considered to be the primary heat sources in the home. In case of sunlight, a transparent wall or curtain provides excellent insulation from thermal performance. A thick curtain provides excellent thermal performance and adequate insulation against ultraviolet light. Another advantage of this type of curtain wall system is its resistance against ultraviolet light. It has better durability than opaque panels and glass panels. Its rigid fitting and solid construction provide long-term UV protection and increased durability against cracking and breaking. Stick Curtain Wall Framing systems are also popular because of their easy installation. Many homeowners prefer them because they are easily assembled. They require no professional installation and come in kits for simple installation. This makes them ideal for do-it-yourself projects.

There are two types of curtain wall systems - factory installed and custom fitted. Most factory installed stick curtain wall systems use standard size and thickness metal panels. However, you can order panels with custom sizes. This option allows you to create walls that are perfectly fit to your dimensions and taste. When using standard sizes, stick curtain walls usually have no siding and only have one frame corner leakage. Custom fitted units have side and end studs for greater durability and to make sure that the panels fit perfectly to each other. Some are also available with double-sided tape for water-proofing. You may want to install a kit that includes both the frames and the side and end fixtures. There are two types of curtain walls built - pressure Equalized and non-Equalized frames. Pressure-Equalized frames have double sides for drainage and moisture protection. Non-Equalized frames do not have this extra protection and need to be sealed.

A third alternative is a Vertical Mullion Blocked System. These units are similar to the pressure-equalized units but include a vertical mullion block with an external reinforcing insert. This blocks the mullion from leaking when it rains. The unitized system is the most cost-effective because it requires the least number of framed units to create an overall larger look. For maximum performance and energy efficiency, many contractors recommend PVC pipe joints as the ideal joint system. However, joints must be made in watertight environments. An example of this would be in a basement with wet or humid conditions. For these systems, most often the PVC joints are made with galvanized or pressure-treated stainless steel pipes.

Sealing and finishing are just two options that help to protect the framed sections. One option is to use exterior sealants. Perimeter sealants come in two forms - chemical and mechanical. The chemical variety of exterior sealant is generally used on smaller projects, while the mechanical sealants are used on larger projects. Interior and exterior sealants are applied by hand or with a machine gun depending on the surface.
